Although originally a retirement community in 1965, and became an incorporated city on January 1, 2007, today young professionals are the fastest growing group of new residents. So why are so many young professionals joining seniors in moving to Bella Vista? Because Bella Vista has a lot to offer.
Commute Time
One reason is it’s only a 20-30 minute commute to Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale. Some of the world’s largest companies are located in these cities. A couple of examples of some of these companies include Walmart and Tyson Foods corporate headquarters.
Living in Bella Vista
Tucked away in the Ozark Mountains, Bella Vista residents enjoy the beautiful surroundings combined with better living. There are lots of reasons why living is better in Bella Vista. Some of these are a lower cost of living than other areas and unemployment is below the national average. In fact, in 2019 the job market increased 7% and an expected 8% growth over the national average by 2031. . Also, Bella Vista has a low crime rate and was named the 4th safest city in Arkansas in 2020.
Medical Care
Although it’s a small city, it has a primary care clinic and the first free-standing emergency department in the area. Therefore, residents can get top-quality medical treatment close to home.
Lakes
Bella Vista has seven lakes. These lakes are not “public” in that only members of the community or their guests are permitted to use them. Lake Ann, Lake Windsor, and Lake Loch Lomond are the largest all-sports lakes in the town. The lakes of Bella Vista: Lake Ann, Lake Avalon, Lake Brittany, Lake Norwood, Lake Rayburn, Lake Windsor, and Loch Lomond Lake is the only lake in Bella Vista that has a marina, boating slips, gas refill station, and pontoons that can be rented.
Things to Do
Amenities include numerous parks, clubhouses with workout areas, swimming pools, six 18-hole golf courses, one nine-hole golf course, seven lakes with fishing and boat docks (three ski lakes), a marina, swimming beach, putt putt golf courses and tennis courts, dog park, softball field, and extensive hiking and biking trails. On top of all those activities, Bella Vista has nearly 100 miles of single track for mountain bike rides. From beginner to the most experienced rider, you can find a trail that’s right for you. In fact, in 2020, Bella Vista was named the 14th Best City for Bikes.
Awards
Bella Vista was named one of the Best Places to Retire in 2019 and Best Places to Retire in each State 2018.
